How to Send & Receive Chat Messages in Webinars

In the WebinarNinja Studio, the chat feature is conveniently located next to the webinar video. This allows attendees to communicate with you, other attendees, and co-presenters throughout the session.

As the host, you can send public messages that everyone can see, as well as private messages visible only to specific individuals. This guide will show you how to manage both public and private chats.

Industrial Use Case

In live webinars, real-time chat allows customer support teams to interact with potential leads directly during product demonstrations. It helps build immediate connections and answer questions while maintaining attendee engagement.

Benefits:

  • Improved Engagement: Public chat encourages interaction between attendees and fosters a community environment during the session.
  • Enhanced Privacy: Private chat allows confidential communication with attendees without interrupting the flow of the webinar.

Public Chat Messaging

Public chat is available for both live and hybrid webinars.

1. To send a public message, simply type your message in the text box at the bottom of the chat area and press Enter.

2. Add a personal touch by including emojis—click the emoji icon to access a variety of emojis.

Tip: Use public chat to answer common questions and facilitate general discussions among attendees. This can keep everyone engaged and provide additional value during your session.

Private Chat Messaging

As the host, you can hold one-on-one private conversations with attendees to address specific concerns or provide personalized support.

1. Open the attendee list: Click the Attendees icon or the number next to it to view all participants.

2. Select the attendee: Click the profile icon of the attendee you wish to chat with privately. A small chat window will appear. Type your message and press Enter.

3. Manage messages: As the host, you can delete any message—yours or the attendee’s—by clicking the three vertical dots next to the message.
