You can disable chat and private messages at any time before or during a live session. This is useful when you want your students to completely focus on your presentation.
Step 1: Go to My Courses.
Step 2: Find the course where you want to disable the chat area and private messages, then click See All Sessions to the right.
Step 3: Click the Go to Session Room button to the right of the individual session to enter the session room.
Step 4: In the session room, under the chat tab, click the ellipsis (...) on the right.
Step 5: Click the blue toggle next to 'Enable chat' to disable the chat. You can always toggle it back to re-enable chat.
To disable private messages, untick the checkbox for 'Allow attendees to send me private messages.' You can re-enable at any time.
