Create GDPR-Compliant Webinars

Ask your registrants for additional consent upon registration.

Updated over a week ago

In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), businesses and other organizations are required to be transparent regarding how they use customers' email addresses and other personal information. This requirement is satisfied by getting customers to provide consent.

With WebinarNinja, you have the option to enable Subscriber Consent. When this is enabled, your registrants will have to consent upon registering for your webinar.

Enable Subscriber Consent

Step 1: Click Account Settings from the left sidebar.

Step 2: Click GDPR Compliance.

Step 3: Click Show to everyone after they opt-in then click Update Settings.

How it works

Your registrants will see the GDPR Subscriber Consent tick box on the form as they fill in the registration form for your webinar. To proceed with the registration, they must agree to the following:

I consent to receive emails to notify me about this event as well as possible promotional emails. I understand I can unsubscribe from these emails at any time.

Note: The GDPR Subscriber Consent agreement on the form cannot be edited or translated.

The emails referred to here are:

  • Auto-generated emails from WebinarNinja containing webinar details including the registrant’s unique webinar link

  • Promotional emails about your products and/or services, should you decide to send them in the future

With Subscriber Consent enabled, it is no longer necessary to enable double opt-in for your mailing list to be compliant with the GDPR.
